Making Cool Money

29/11/2013

People like to be "cool" these days and with  the ability to purchase anything online there is an opportunity to promote cool new products to these "coolness" seekers. If you have the latest new shirt, mp3 player, car accessory, or Bluetooth headset, you are deemed "cool" within certain communities. People buy these products like they are "going out of style" and often times create massive "hype" storms.

Look at a recent example of this. The remote control helicopter was sold out of almost every single store around Christmas of 2013 . This is because someone posted a video on youtube.com showing friends their "cool" new toy. It spread virally through word of mouth and the companies selling them couldn't keep them on the shelves.

Here are some of the top sites to find what is hot online among the general online community:

 Boingboing.net
 Fark.com
 Gizmodo.com
 Engadget.com
 ThinkGeek.com

Use these sites to your advantage if you want to take advantage of "Cool Factor" marketing
